May we celebrate and proclaim glorious experiences and activities. Watch over and protect us all as we celebrate your presence wherever people walk. Day 38 February 5, 2012
Pray for the celebration of a successful Super Bowl for the teams represented.
1 Corinthians 9:23 – 27 (NIV1984)
“23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?
Run in such a way as to get the prize.
25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.
They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.
27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others,
I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
Oh, Jesus, you walked on earth and taught us how to live a godly life. We pray for the coaches, trainers, athletes, and all staff members who are competing in the Super Bowl as they practice, train, and mentally prepare for the game. We ask that they focus on teamwork and good sportsmanship. Give them wisdom, courage, strength, and stamina throughout the game. Help them take their eyes off of selfish gain and focus on unity to win. Prevent bribes from destroying the integrity of the players and coaches. Protect players from injuries. Let this game be true, honest competition to the end. We ask that both teams give God the praise for their success before, during, and after the Super Bowl. Thank you, Jesus, for helping us celebrate the Super Bowl in Indianapolis, Indiana. Amen.

John 10:28-29
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all:
no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.”
Most Gracious Heavenly Father, we ask you to keep watch over our guests as they return to their homes. As you have promised to protect all who worship you, please protect them so they arrive home safely. We ask this prayer in your son's name - Jesus. Amen

A special thank you is expressed to the contributing writers: Bill Barnhill, Bill Byers, Janet Byers, Ann Crider, Linda Hankins, Jacquie Meisenhelder, Karen Richards, and Ruth Esther Vawter.
In August, we were inspired by Terry Teykl when he spoke at our church, Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. We have been studying Terry’s workbook: Encounter, A Blueprint for the House of Prayer. Our goal was to unite the people of Indianapolis to pray for a successful Super Bowl. When you bring the Glory of God into your community, evil can’t stick around. We have asked many churches to join our prayer efforts.
We pray you have been blessed by reading the scriptures and praying each day. Please share any divine encounters or ways you were able to minister to people during the Super Bowl. We want to share how God worked in the lives of people during the Super Bowl activities.
Please leave comments on this site or you may contact the church office or leave a message on the church website.
Thank you and God bless you.
